Vicar (in plurality with St Michael's, Cross Heath):

    Rev. Derek J. Lloyd  MA

FrNeilBorn in Tipton in 1978, to a very close and loving family. I have one younger sister and a younger brother. I attended Alexandra high School, and when I left I studied History at the University of Birmingham graduating in 2000. After a year‘s placement in Newcastle-under-Lyme, in the Wolstanton team I went to the College of the Resurrection (2001-2004), Where three of the happiest years were spent, in reflection, Prayer, study & Priestly formation. Whilst there I studied at the University of Leeds for a theology degree and a Masters degree in theology.

My title Parish was St. Andrew‘s, Burnley, where I was curate for three and a half years with Canon Peter Hapgood-Strickland, who had a great influence upon me. Many happy hours were spent in a vibrant parish with some of the loveliest people I have ever met. From there I went to the Parish of West Burnley for two years as a Mission Priest, situated on a new housing development known as Wellfield. Again many happy memories.

My interests are literature, travel and music, (although I limit myself to listening .. I hate what I do to it). I enjoy spending time with family, (particularly my two nephews), and friends.
